Economic Model Specialist

About the role

ADNOC Group is hiring an Economic Model Specialist in Abu Dhabi. The role builds and maintains economic models used for production optimisation and economic evaluations of feedstock and product imports and exports, supports site teams with margin analysis and scenario studies, and develops daily, weekly and monthly margin reports.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and keep up to date economic models for feedstock and product import/export evaluations, including linear programming models and economic models for intermediate and product sales and purchases
• Carry out economic evaluations of crude condensate and other feedstocks to support procurement, and support commercial operations with timely evaluations
• Prepare daily and weekly margin reports, monthly gross margin reports and retro analysis of plan versus actual performance
• Support the Senior Specialist in monthly variance analysis, monitor product quality KPIs and unit yields, and track margin losses from shutdowns and process limitations
• Oversee the Profit Improvement Plan (PIP) at sites, run scenario analyses for shutdowns and slowdowns, and present weekly economics updates to refinery management
• Maintain auditable records of economic evaluation decisions and support budgeting, supervision, HSE compliance and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Economics or equivalent; additional business qualification is an advantage
• 8 years of experience building and interpreting economic models, preferably in oil, gas or petrochemical plants
• Knowledge of the oil and gas industry and excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic is preferable
