Economist – Economic Analysis & Strategy Consultant

About the role

WSP is looking for a highly skilled Economist to join its growing team in Sharjah. You will deliver high‑quality economic analysis, policy advice, and strategic insights to clients across the Middle East and globally, supporting sustainable development and commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Support WSP engagements in economic analysis, advisory, and strategic consultancy.
• Provide advice on economic, strategic development and related policy matters, ensuring high‑quality outputs.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and internal teams.
• Conduct comprehensive economic analysis, including quantitative and qualitative research, market assessments and economic modelling.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of economic tools, modelling frameworks and methodologies.
• Assist senior economists and managers in business development, proposal preparation and tender submissions.
• Work with project managers to ensure timely, budget‑conscious project delivery.

Required profile

• Strong background in economic analysis, strategy development or business case creation across multiple sectors.
• Consultancy experience with a proven track record of delivering projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is highly desirable.
• Undergraduate degree in economics or a closely related discipline.
