Electrical Engineer – Space Systems Development

About the role

The National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC) seeks an Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of ground support and test equipment, as well as electro‑mechanical hardware for both ground and space missions. You will work on CubeSat and small spacecraft projects, collaborating with faculty, graduate and undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of NSSTC facilities and test equipment.
• Design, analyze, assemble, test, and validate ground‑based and space‑based hardware and software.
• Document interfaces and requirements for multidisciplinary projects.
• Mentor university students and contribute to knowledge transfer.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Required profile

• BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• FPGA programming.
• Electro‑mechanical system design and packaging for space environments.
• Cleanroom experience.
