Electrical QA/QC Engineer

About the role

An experienced Electrical QA/QC Engineer is sought to oversee quality assurance and quality control across electrical works on luxury design and build construction projects. The engineer ensures that electrical installations, materials and site activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards and relevant UAE regulations, working closely with project managers, site engineers, consultants, subcontractors and other project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor project-specific QA/QC procedures for all electrical works.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, material submittals and method statements for compliance.
• Conduct regular site inspections of electrical installations and inspect systems such as power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, containment, cabling, earthing, grounding and low-current systems.
• Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements and Inspection Requests (IRs).
• Carry out inspections and testing at each stage of installation and coordinate with consultants and subcontractors on quality issues.
• Identify non-conformances, raise NCRs and ensure corrective and preventive actions are closed out.
• Monitor electrical materials and equipment against approved specifications and ensure compliance with UAE regulations, DEWA requirements, Civil Defence standards and international codes.
• Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection reports, testing records and quality checklists.
• Coordinate with commissioning teams so systems are tested, commissioned and handed over, and support handover with test certificates, as-built drawings and O&M manuals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical QA/QC within construction, contracting or design and build.
• Strong experience on large-scale residential, commercial or luxury projects.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, subcontractors and project management teams.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of electrical installations, testing, inspection and commissioning.
• QA/QC procedures, ISO 9001, ITPs, NCRs and method statements.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong reporting, problem-solving and communication skills, with attention to detail.
