Electrical Section Head – Paper Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Section Head to lead the electrical maintenance function at a leading paper manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures plant availability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of engineers, supervisors and technicians, establishing KPIs and conducting performance reviews.
• Oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance schedules using SAP PM and coordinate major mill shutdowns.
• Manage the power infrastructure—including substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems and generators—and liaise with local utilities for inspections.
• Enforce QHSE compliance, ensuring adherence to UAE laws, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and audit high‑voltage SOPs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 8‑10+ years of electrical maintenance experience in heavy/continuous process manufacturing.
• 3‑5 years in a supervisory or Section Head role within tissue paper or advanced paper mills.
• Proven ability to manage OPEX budgets and CAPEX projects from estimation to commissioning.

Required skills

• SAP PM (or equivalent CMMS) for maintenance workflow management.
• High‑voltage and medium‑voltage substations, switchgear, UPS and emergency generator systems.
• ABB/Siemens variable frequency drives (VFDs) and large induction motor maintenance.
• Arc‑Flash mitigation, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and high‑voltage switching safety protocols.
