Electrical Technician

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group focused on defence and emerging technologies, is looking for an Electrical Technician in Abu Dhabi. The role supports the engineering team by assembling, testing and troubleshooting electronic circuits and prototypes, providing hands-on help in hardware development and basic data acquisition support.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and solder components on veroboard and copper PCBs according to provided schematics.
• Assist in developing, testing and troubleshooting electronic circuits and systems, and support hardware prototyping, integration and debugging.
• Take basic electrical measurements with multimeters, oscilloscopes and other lab instruments.
• Maintain documentation of circuit diagrams, component inventories and test results.
• Follow safety and quality procedures and adhere to industry standards and internal safety policies.
• Document test data and findings accurately and report progress and issues to senior engineering staff.
• Propose improvements to test procedures, tools or workflows.
• Bonus: support LabVIEW setup and data acquisition tasks if experienced.

Required profile

• Diploma or certification in Electrical/Electronic Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand basic circuit schematics.
• Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and strong communication and teamwork skills.
• English proficiency is required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of electronic components, circuit assembly and soldering.
• Experience with veroboard and copper PCB prototyping.
• Bonus: exposure to LabVIEW or other data acquisition tools.
