Electrician - Hotel Engineering

About the role

The Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is hiring an Electrician for its Engineering Department. The Electrician operates, maintains and repairs all aspects of the electrical system according to the hotel's standards, reporting to the Electrical Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to electrical systems operation and maintenance as required
• Carry out equipment preventive and routine maintenance
• Respond to guest maintenance requests within 15 minutes of receipt
• Keep the uniform clean and in good repair, and maintain a clean appearance in guestrooms and public areas
• Keep the workshop and related areas clean and tidy
• Observe prescribed safety standards and follow supervisors' instructions and security and safety rules
• Perform special projects and interact with other departments for technical support during functions and promotions
• Work as a team to deliver excellent guest service, respecting guests' security and privacy
• Be ready to work in shifts and do overtime as required

Required profile

• Previous experience in the same role in a luxury property; resort experience is a plus
• Diploma or ITI certificate in Electrical or equivalent technical qualification
• Familiarity with hotel engineering operations and preventive maintenance systems
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a guest-oriented environment

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, control panels and safety procedures
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints and manuals
