About the role
Stripe is looking for an experienced legal counsel to lead its regulatory work in the UAE and support future expansion across the region. You will join the EMEA Regulatory Legal team, reporting to the Head of EMEA Regulatory Legal in Dublin, and work on a wide range of fintech and payments regulatory challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Advise internal stakeholders on UAE regulatory issues and broader EMEA financial regulations.
- Partner with Product, Legal and Compliance teams to ensure Stripe products meet regulatory requirements.
- Develop policies, procedures and compliance programs aligned with local laws.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide proactive guidance on trends, risks and opportunities.
- Support advocacy efforts related to proposed laws, rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address regulatory matters efficiently.
- Identify and evaluate business and legal risks, proposing creative mitigation strategies.
- Help shape Stripe’s regulatory engagement strategy and maintain internal legal resources.
Required profile
- Qualified legal professional with substantial experience in payments or fintech regulation.
- Based in the UAE and able to work on‑site.
- Full‑time availability.
- Strong ability to advise business, policy, compliance and risk partners.
