Engineer II, Design & Modeling

About the role

The Engineer II – Design & Modeling will perform finite element analysis (FEA), structural simulation and engineering calculations to support the design, development and validation of mechanical and vehicle systems. The role ensures structural integrity, durability and optimisation of designs for defence and heavy‑vehicle applications.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to define analysis requirements, load cases and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct static, dynamic, modal/vibration, thermal/thermo‑mechanical, fatigue, buckling and nonlinear/contact analyses.
• Define boundary conditions, material properties, meshing strategies and convergence criteria following best‑practice FEA modelling.
• Perform engineering calculations, load‑path assessments and factor‑of‑safety evaluations to validate simulation results.
• Correlate FEA outcomes with physical testing, support prototype validation and prepare analysis reports for design reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Mechatronics Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience with strong FEA/structural‑analysis expertise.
• Experience in automotive, defence or heavy‑vehicle sectors is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ANSYS or equivalent CAE software.
• Experience in static, dynamic, modal, thermal, fatigue, buckling and nonlinear/contact analysis.
• Knowledge of Creo Simulation, Creo, Windchill, Geomagic Design X, Control X and Artec Studio.
• Familiarity with CAD/PLM, reverse engineering, 3D scanning and 3D printing.
