Engineering Manager

About the role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead the full engineering function for a major project based in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Project Director and the Engineering Director, the role oversees discipline managers, coordinators and the document control team to ensure engineering deliverables meet schedule, quality and integration requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Engineering Execution Plan (EEP) and define the engineering work‑breakdown structure and deliverable schedule.
• Manage preparation, review and approval of design calculations, drawings, specifications, datasheets and material requisitions.
• Coordinate multi‑disciplinary efforts across process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical and instrumentation disciplines, resolving design conflicts and interface issues.
• Ensure compliance with the Project Quality Plan, customer standards and international codes such as ASME, API, ISO and IEC, conducting design reviews and independent checks.
• Support procurement by issuing material requisitions, evaluating technical bids and reviewing vendor documentation.
• Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, offshore installation and commissioning, addressing field queries and updating as‑built documentation.
• Identify and manage critical engineering interfaces throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and managing complete engineering functions on large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of international engineering standards (ASME, API, ISO, IEC).
• Ability to develop and execute detailed engineering plans and schedules.
• Experience coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams and resolving interface issues.
• Familiarity with procurement support and construction/fabrication engineering processes.
