Engineering Manager

About the role

Hyatt Place Dubai seeks a skilled Engineering Manager to lead the engineering department across two properties, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑standard operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering teams for both Hyatt Place locations, overseeing daily operations, maintenance, and performance of all building systems.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes and ensure timely corrective repairs.
• Supervise, coach, and motivate engineering staff, plan schedules, allocate resources, and manage priorities.
• Monitor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life‑safety systems, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and environmental practices.
• Manage budgets, operating expenses, contractors, and service agreements, maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Support energy, water, and waste‑reduction initiatives and coordinate with other hotel departments.
• Respond to emergencies, breakdowns, and operational challenges, and support renovation and capital projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience as Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water systems, boilers, kitchen equipment and general building maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication and team‑development skills with a solutions‑focused, hands‑on approach.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance, health, safety, environmental and fire‑life‑safety standards.
• Experience in budgeting, procurement and contractor management.
