Engineering Manager – Project Development & Studies

About the role

Wood is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams through Concept, Feasibility, Pre‑FEED and FEED studies for major brownfield infrastructure projects in the Middle East. Based in Dubai, the role ensures technical excellence and supports investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all engineering aspects of assigned projects, delivering within scope, budget and schedule.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams during early project phases and provide continuity through FEED, Detailed Design and execution.
• Develop and evaluate engineering solutions for technical integrity, operability, maintainability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and mitigate technical risks.
• Lead engineering reviews, design workshops, risk assessments and value‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of oil & gas experience with extensive work in Concept‑to‑FEED phases.
• Proven experience in Engineering Management, Study Management or Project Engineering Management.
• Strong background in Process Engineering and Front End Loading (FEL) across Select, Assess and Define stages.
• Experience with brownfield modifications, export facilities, pipeline systems and Middle East projects.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation is preferred.
