Engineering Technician

About the role

The Engineering Technician will support the Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi by responding to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment. The role requires independent work with minimal supervision while ensuring safety and compliance with local codes.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of tools and equipment.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves, maintain inventory, and requisition parts as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to the next shift using approved procedures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and plumbing diagrams.
• Perform complex repairs on HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and replace pumps, motors, and other equipment components.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months of relevant experience in building or hotel engineering.
• Ability to work with little supervision and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including Lockout‑Tagout.
