Equipment Operator – Airport Ground Handling

About the role

The Equipment Operator works under the Apron Supervisor / Ground Handling Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation of ground support equipment (GSE) on the airport ramp. The role involves supporting airlines, ramp staff, and aircraft cleaners while adhering to international aviation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the assigned supervisor at the start of each shift and receive daily task allocations.
• Conduct pre‑operational inspections, complete checklists, and report any defects immediately.
• Operate authorized GSE/GSV after completing required training and competency assessments.
• Record equipment assignment timings accurately for billing purposes.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, ensure only serviceable units are used, and aim to reduce fuel consumption.
• Comply with all airport regulations, SOPs, and QHSSE requirements.
• Perform routine FOD inspections, wing‑walking duties, and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Support ramp staff and aircraft cleaners as needed and assist with marshalling and headset procedures after certification.

Required profile

• Good standard of education.
• Fluent in spoken and written English (Arabic is a plus).
• Valid UAE driving licence.
• Ability to follow airside driving rules and safety clearances.
