Estate Manager / Household Manager (Married Couple)

About the role

A private family in the United Arab Emirates is looking for a highly capable, experienced and trustworthy married couple to manage and support the daily personal and household needs of two elderly people. The couple will oversee a network of residences across the UAE and internationally, combining hands-on care, discreet professional service, estate management and international coordination. The position is full-time and requires living in the estate.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of multiple properties across the UAE, Europe and other locations.
• Supervise and train domestic staff such as housekeepers, chefs, gardeners, drivers and laundresses.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, service, organisation and presentation across all residences.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections to spot maintenance or operational needs.
• Plan and manage household budgets, vendor contracts and inventory, and liaise with service providers for maintenance, procurement and repairs.
• Oversee kitchen operations, including meal planning, dietary needs, quality control and seasonal adjustments.
• Coordinate formal dinners, events and guest stays, and manage travel schedules and seasonal home openings and closings.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and support the female principal with her daily routines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or diploma in Hospitality, Business Administration, Travel and Tourism, Healthcare or Private Service.
• At least 10 years as an estate manager or chief housekeeper in a multi-residence household.
• Demonstrated experience managing multicultural teams and a history of long-term placements.
• Legally married couple with prior experience working together in similar roles; clean background checks and verified references.
• Non-smokers, no dependents or pets, willing and able to travel regularly and live in.
• Sensitivity to the physical and emotional well-being of elderly principals.

Required skills

• Fluent English; additional languages valued.
• Experience in logistics, procurement and vendor negotiations.
• Basic knowledge of fine household materials (fabrics, antiques, silverware, art care).
• Tech-savviness for household apps, inventories, calendars and communications.
