Event Concept Designer

About the role

The Events Concept Designer crafts unique, immersive and visually engaging event concepts that reflect the client's brand identity and objectives. The role blends creativity with strategic thinking, developing event storylines, aesthetics and experiences. It suits someone with a background in experiential design, storytelling and trend forecasting, and proficiency in design and presentation tools.

Key responsibilities

• Attend client briefings, develop and present creative concepts (themes, narratives, visual direction) and prepare strategy decks with mood boards and experiential touchpoints.
• Conduct market research and trend analysis, and create proposals outlining the event's look and feel and audience journey.
• Present concepts to clients and work with production teams and project managers to keep concepts executable and budget-aligned.
• Research and recommend AV, décor and set design partners, and negotiate with vendors for materials, design execution and technical needs.
• Mentor the team, create mood boards, spatial layouts and design decks, supervise spatial planning, stage design and guest flow, and oversee setup and installation while ensuring safety and venue requirements are met.
• Evaluate concept performance through post-event analysis, stay up to date on trends and technologies, integrate AI-powered design tools, and identify opportunities for standout activations and collaborations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Event Design, Event Management, Marketing or Visual Communication (or related field).
• 5-7 years of experience in event concept design, experiential marketing or creative direction; luxury, fashion or lifestyle experience preferred.
• Strong vendor and industry network across the region.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is an asset.

Required skills

• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, Figma.
• 3D visualization and rendering: SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhino or Cinema 4D.
• Presentation and collaboration tools: PowerPoint, Keynote, Notion, Monday.com or Trello.
• Event planning software: Cvent, Social Tables, AllSeated (preferred).
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Midjourney, Runway ML or ChatGPT for ideation.
