Facade Designer – Glass & Aluminium

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Facade Designer to produce buildable, code‑compliant shop drawings and details for aluminium and glass façade packages on high‑rise and mid‑rise projects in Dubai. The role involves collaboration with the Facade Project Head, engineering, procurement, factory and site teams from tender stage to as‑built.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop drawings and specifications for unitised and stick curtain wall, cladding, windows and structural glazing.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and site teams to ensure design compliance with Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence and Trakhees/DDA requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil, Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or Architectural Technology.
• 5–10 years of façade design experience, including at least 3 years in the UAE/GCC on high‑rise or large commercial projects.

Required skills

• Shop drawing and detailing for aluminium extrusion systems, thermal breaks, finishes and major system suppliers (Technal, Schüco, Reynaers, Alumil).
• Knowledge of laminated, tempered, heat‑strengthened, insulated and low‑E glass, brackets, anchors, sealants and fire‑stopping methods.
• Basic understanding of wind load, thermal and acoustic performance, and related testing standards (Dubai Building Code, Civil Defence code, ASTM, EN, AAMA, CWCT).
