Facility and Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Facility & Maintenance Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village, reporting to the AJAH Director. The role ensures the safety, cleanliness, functionality and heritage‑sensitive presentation of all buildings, public areas, utilities and technical systems, supporting visitors, events and cultural programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve preventive and corrective maintenance plans for heritage structures, visitor facilities, pathways and utilities.
• Conduct routine inspections, record conditions and schedule timely interventions.
• Manage contractors, conservation specialists and service providers, monitoring performance, quality, budgets and timelines.
• Oversee electrical systems, including distribution boards, cabling and power supply, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with RAK Municipality, Civil Defense, EtihadWE and the RAK Department of Antiquities & Museums.
• Support event‑related set‑up, temporary installations and visitor readiness.
• Prepare and control budgets, track costs and report on financial performance.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in facility or site management, preferably in heritage or culturally sensitive environments.
• Strong managerial capabilities with experience supervising service providers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated financial awareness, budget planning and cost‑control skills.
• Ability to liaise effectively with government authorities and external stakeholders.
