Field Service Engineer Intern – SCS/CS

About the role

Join GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions team for a 12‑month early‑career internship focused on field service engineering. You will develop hands‑on technical skills while supporting client sites and gaining exposure to power system automation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist GE engineers in preparing signal lists from schematics and related documents.
• Support engineering and field service tasks for protection relays, panel modifications, protection logic diagrams, and bill of materials.
• Handle production documents such as wiring tables, cable schedules, and inter‑panel wiring files, including CT/VT adequacy checks and relay setting calculations.
• Participate in field service activities for Substation Automation Systems, including DCS/SCS, RTU, and cybersecurity implementations.
• Coordinate and record tests for digital inputs, IEC61850 IEDs, SCADA signals, and SCS functionalities, and assist with installation of fiber‑optic layouts and SCS consoles.
• Follow project plans to meet milestones and ensure EHS compliance, including PPE provision for testing and commissioning personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Control & Instrumentation, Energy, Renewable Energy, Electronics, Cybersecurity, AI or related field.
• Fresh graduate up to 2 years of experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
