Finance Manager (General Ledger)

About the role

The Finance Manager (General Ledger) will oversee the general ledger accounts for all hypermarkets and supermarkets across the country, ensuring strict compliance with company finance policies, group guidelines and international accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set and monitor control mechanisms to ensure budget compliance and take corrective actions when needed.
• Develop and implement procedures that guarantee the accuracy of accounts in line with group policies and international standards.
• Ensure timely and correct booking of payments, provisions and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Lead the annual closing process, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
• Collaborate with department heads to address concerns and propose best‑practice solutions.
• Monitor allocated budgets, drive cost‑reduction initiatives and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Recommend and implement improvements to finance policies, procedures and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce or related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a finance department, including managerial responsibilities.
• At least 2 years of experience in the retail sector.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, budgeting and cost control.
