Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead the end‑to‑end finance function of our DIFC entity, ensuring accurate financial and regulatory reporting, IFRS 17 compliance and effective liaison with auditors and the DFSA. This senior position reports directly to senior leadership and plays a key role in driving financial performance and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial operations including payroll, invoicing and other transactional activities.
• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly management reports and group reporting packs.
• Manage reinsurance accounting – treaty and facultative accounting, broker reconciliations and receivables ageing.
• Submit DFSA prudential returns, monitor capital adequacy and ensure compliance with DFSA rulebook (PIN/PRU modules).
• Ensure compliance with DIFC Companies Law, UAE corporate tax, and VAT on insurance/reinsurance transactions.
• Support strategic data analysis, modelling and ad‑hoc projects for senior leadership.
• Maintain accounting, monitoring and reporting systems, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and regulatory standards.
• Develop performance metrics, drive margin enhancement, cost reduction and operational efficiencies.
• Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, tax authorities and regulators.

Required profile

• BSc in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or ACCA) – required.
• Minimum 10 years post‑qualification experience, with at least 5 years in insurance or reinsurance.
• Hands‑on experience with IFRS 17 and IFRS 4 reporting in an insurance/reinsurance environment.
• Experience working with audit firms and liaising with regulators (preferably DFSA) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 (Insurance Contracts) and IFRS 4.
• Familiarity with DFSA regulatory framework and DIFC Companies Law.
• Expertise in UAE corporate tax and VAT compliance for insurance/reinsurance.
• Proficiency in reinsurance accounting and broker statement reconciliation.
• Advanced understanding of accounting systems, budgeting and internal controls.
