Financial Controller – Fintech (Multi‑entity, Multi‑currency)

About the role

The company is a fast‑growing fintech operating in a high‑volume, regulated environment. It is transitioning from a founder‑led start‑up to a scale‑up and needs a strong finance leader to own and improve the accounting engine across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day accounting operations for several entities and jurisdictions.
• Oversee bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger integrity and operating expense accounting.
• Lead bank, balance‑sheet, transaction and multi‑currency reconciliations.
• Design and run a disciplined month‑end close process, including checklists, schedules and reporting packs.
• Strengthen controls around approvals, documentation, reconciliations and audit readiness.
• Support external audit, statutory reporting, tax/VAT compliance and regulated entity reporting.
• Partner with finance leadership, operations, compliance and senior management to ensure accurate financial outputs.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities for accounting, reconciliation and reporting.
• Help build, mentor and formalise the finance/accounting team as the organisation grows.

• Detail‑oriented professional who enjoys structure and ownership.
• Comfortable improving finance functions that are still being formalised.
• Ability to work hands‑on while collaborating with senior finance leadership.
