Financial Controller (Hotel Sector)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a hotel operation. The role combines core accounting oversight with specialised hospitality financial management, supporting senior leadership in strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities including accounts payable, receivable, payroll and general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Develop, monitor and report on budgets, forecasts and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory filings and regulatory reporting.
• Implement internal controls, risk‑management policies and cash‑handling procedures.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and treasury functions.
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks and regulatory bodies.
• Analyse revenue streams (rooms, F&B, spa, etc.) and monitor hospitality KPIs such as ADR and RevPAR.
• Support pricing strategies, promotions and seasonal financial forecasting.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA, CMA or ACCA preferred.
• 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, preferably within the hotel industry.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and hotel‑specific financial practices.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex budgets and financial reporting cycles.
• High ethical standards and a commitment to compliance.
