Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Global Financial Controller to lead accounting and financial control across multiple international entities in a fast‑scaling, cross‑border lending business. You will own the integrity of financial reporting for a multi‑currency loan book, strengthen controls, support audits and drive finance transformation as the company expands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting under IFRS and local GAAP, with focus on financial instruments and loan portfolio accounting.
• Own end‑to‑end accounting for the loan book, including interest income recognition, fee deferral, loan origination, modifications and derecognition.
• Manage expected credit loss provisioning under IFRS 9, including staging, model inputs, governance and communication with auditors.
• Develop and manage a small international finance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate global audit processes and relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and regulators.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and risk‑management practices.
• Support lender and debt‑facility reporting, covenant compliance and reconciliation between operational lending systems and the financial ledger.
• Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Credit/Risk, Legal and business leaders to inform strategic decisions.
• Drive process improvement, automation and finance transformation initiatives.
• Assist with M&A, integration projects and corporate restructuring as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent).
• 8–12+ years of progressive finance and controllership experience.
• Prior experience in lending, fintech, banking or financial‑services environments where loan book accounting is core.
• Experience managing multi‑entity, multi‑currency international operations.
• Proven track record leading financial audits and working with external auditors.
