FinOps Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a FinOps Analyst to own and optimise the cost side of our payments platform. You will build the fee models, track provider costs and provide the data that drives pricing decisions for the CEO and CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a comprehensive cost map of all scheme, provider, banking and FX fees per corridor and payment method.
• Reconcile partner and provider invoices against contracted rates and actual volumes, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Model unit economics to deliver per‑transaction and per‑corridor profitability views for leadership.
• Provide cost floors for pricing, renewal negotiations and commercial decisions.
• Monitor fee trends, mix shifts and cost creep, flagging issues before month‑end close.
• Automate reconciliation processes, moving from spreadsheets to repeatable documented workflows.
• Prepare the monthly “cost of payments” report for the CFO, explaining variances.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, payments finance or FinOps, preferably within a PSP, payments company or bank.
• Deep understanding of interchange, scheme fees, provider pricing structures and settlement mechanics.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and rigorous documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex fee schedules into concise executive summaries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel / spreadsheet modelling.
• SQL (structured query language) for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience with business intelligence platforms.
• Familiarity with accounting systems.
