Fire Training Officer

About the role

The Fire Training Officer is responsible for delivering and supervising fire, hydrocarbon and toxic‑gas emergency response training across the island’s operational and municipal facilities. The role acts as incident commander during emergencies until relieved and ensures that all training meets ADNOC standards and fire service policies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the Island Fire Training Centre under the Lead Fire Training Officer.
• Act as incident commander during fire, oil/chemical spills, gas releases and rescue situations.
• Develop and deliver training courses for fire service personnel, UAE nationals, offshore facilities and marine vessels.
• Design and execute simulated emergency exercises for auxiliary fire teams.
• Prepare and maintain training aids for fire, chemical incident, breathing apparatus and life‑support courses.
• Inspect offshore facilities for compliance with HSE regulations, fire codes and standards; compile related reports.
• Oversee testing, maintenance and competency verification of fire‑fighting vehicles, marine firefighting tugs and fire‑main components.
• Review and update emergency procedures, maintenance programs and technical manuals.
• Manage safe disposal of hazardous chemicals involved in incidents.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fire service operations and emergency response.
• Ability to act as incident commander until relieved by a senior officer.
• Capability to train, supervise and mentor fire personnel and auxiliary teams.

Required skills

• Operation of carbon dioxide and air compressors.
• Use of bulk dry‑chemical filling machines.
• Maintenance and testing of breathing apparatus and fire‑fighting equipment.
• Conducting inspections to ensure compliance with fire codes and HSE regulations.
