About the role
The Flight Simulator Instructor will deliver high‑quality training on BD700 family aircraft (Global Express, Global 5000/6000/6500) in a simulator environment. The role combines briefing, debriefing, classroom instruction and support for curriculum development, ensuring trainees meet licensing and performance standards.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain all required personal licences, ratings, instructor privileges and medical fitness.
- Verify regulatory approvals before each training session and adhere to CAE/ECFT policies and safety standards.
- Conduct comprehensive simulator briefings and debriefings, documenting any deviations from SOPs.
- Deliver simulator instruction (typically four or more hours per session) and classroom training using platforms such as Simfinity, CBT and IPT.
- Support curriculum and device development, including evaluation, validation and certification of simulators, FTDs and FMS trainers.
- Obtain and maintain FAA/EASA ground‑school and simulator instructor qualifications when assigned.
- Acquire examiner qualifications and perform examiner duties as required.
- Maintain accurate training records, identify performance gaps and recommend remedial actions.
- Prepare training facilities and equipment, assess trainee readiness and recommend candidates for licensing checks.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert for curriculum and courseware enhancement and deliver MCC instruction for high‑performance aircraft.
Required profile
- BD700 type rating (Global Express / Global 5000 / 6000 / 6500) – preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience as a TRI/TRE, simulator instructor or in a training role within an ATO or simulator training centre.
- Ability to maintain instructional currency and meet qualification requirements.
- Willingness to obtain FAA/EASA ground‑school and examiner qualifications within specified timeframes.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Simfinity simulation platform.
- Experience delivering Computer‑Based Training (CBT) and Integrated Performance Trainer (IPT) sessions.
- Knowledge of Flight Training Devices (FTD) and Flight Management System (FMS) trainers.
- Capability to conduct Multi‑Crew Cooperation (MCC) instruction for high‑performance complex aircraft.
