Flying Instructor

About the role

The Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) in Dubai South seeks a qualified Flying Instructor to deliver high‑quality training to ab‑initio pilot cadets. You will start on SR‑22 single‑engine aircraft with the possibility to progress to the DA42 twin‑engine fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑aircraft, simulator and ground instruction to cadets.
• Conduct pre‑flight and post‑flight briefings and debriefings.
• Prepare lesson plans, training materials and accurate performance reports.
• Carry out regular proficiency checks and ensure cadets meet course standards.
• Monitor safety, report incidents and enforce operational procedures.
• Track cadet progress, generate performance reports and recommend improvements.
• Research and develop new training methods to enhance learning outcomes.

Required profile

• Ab‑initio flying instructional experience in a large ATO.
• Minimum 700 total flight hours, including 500 instructional hours and 200 IFR hours.
• GCAA or ICAO Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or ATPL with Single‑Engine Class Rating.
• Flight Instructor Rating with Night and Instrument privileges.
• Class 1 Medical Certificate without restrictions.
• ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or higher.
• Strong instructional technique and ability to work in a safety‑critical environment.

Required skills

• Aircraft instruction on SR‑22 (single‑engine) and DA42 (twin‑engine) platforms.
• Simulator instruction and flight briefing/debriefing.
• Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) operations.
• Night flying procedures.
• Report writing and performance assessment.
