Foreign Multimedia Producer

About the role

The National, the leading English-language news outlet in the Middle East, is seeking a Foreign Multimedia Producer to create and manage video content covering foreign affairs. Working closely with editors, correspondents and the multimedia team, you will deliver high-quality short- and long-form videos for the newsroom and social platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Produce short- and long-form foreign affairs video content, maintaining journalistic and technical standards.
• Manage and process incoming footage from correspondents across the region.
• Film and produce daily quick-turnaround videos for breaking news, explainers and editorial needs.
• Review agency footage and edit according to direction from senior editors.
• Tailor video content for social media platforms, optimizing for engagement and format.
• Respond swiftly to breaking news to ensure timely coverage.
• Support multimedia integration in editorial planning and contribute to the digital strategy.
• Uphold UAE cultural, social and moral values and align content with national policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a fast-paced or large media environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Journalism, Multimedia Design or related field.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, collaborative mindset and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Experience operating DSLR cameras.
• Familiarity with Video CMS platforms.
• Script writing and video editing for short and long formats.
