Forward Deployed AI Engineer

About the role

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer you will join fast‑moving, customer‑embedded delivery teams to design, develop and operate AI‑native enterprise applications. Working closely with senior engineers and technical leads, you will apply machine‑learning techniques to solve real‑world business problems and deliver production‑grade solutions for enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop cloud‑native applications that integrate AI capabilities such as large language models, retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines, and agent‑based components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional delivery teams to understand business processes, technical landscapes and customer needs.
• Implement features, components and integrations while maintaining code quality and engineering standards.
• Support prototyping, testing and iteration of AI solutions in customer environments, adapting to feedback and evolving requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and design sessions to continuously improve engineering skills.
• Assist with monitoring, troubleshooting and improving deployed solutions to ensure reliability and operational stability.
• Contribute to documentation, reusable components and best‑practice guidelines to enhance team productivity.
• Stay current with AI/ML developments and apply new techniques and tools to improve solution quality.

Required profile

• Solid foundation in software engineering with proficiency in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one cloud‑native development environment.
• Growing understanding of AI/ML concepts, including large language models and machine‑learning frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools such as Git, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively, take ownership of tasks and communicate effectively in customer‑facing settings.
• Curiosity, adaptability and a growth mindset focused on rapid learning.
• Interest or early exposure to SAP AI solutions.
