Forward-Deployed Engineer

About the role

Artefact is looking for a Forward-Deployed Engineer to design, build and ship Palantir Foundry‑based data products for clients across multiple industries. You will act as the Foundry expert, collaborating with consultants, data scientists and engineers to deliver high‑impact solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain production data pipelines in Foundry using Pipeline Builder and Code Repositories (Python/PySpark).
• Design and evolve the Ontology to model client business objects and relationships.
• Deliver operational applications and analytics using Workshop, Contour, Quiver and Slate.
• Integrate client source systems and cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) ensuring data quality, lineage and permissions.
• Apply engineering discipline: code reviews, automated tests, CI/CD and documentation.
• Partner with data scientists and consultants to move ML and AIP use cases from prototype to production.
• Lead or contribute to Foundry implementations from scoping to hand‑over and explain technical choices to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Coach colleagues, share best practices and help shape Artefact’s Palantir offering.

Required profile

• Hands‑on production experience with Palantir Foundry components (Code Repositories, Pipeline Builder, Ontology, and at least one of Workshop, Contour, Quiver or Slate).
• Experience delivering or leading end‑to‑end Foundry implementations, preferably in a client‑facing role.
• Strong Python development skills, including testing and releasing production code (PySpark a plus).
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational or columnar databases such as BigQuery, SQL Server or Postgres.
• Proficiency with Git and version‑control workflows, including pull requests and code review.
