Founding Designer

About the role

Garage is seeking a Founding Designer to shape and grow the design function across both brand and product. You will own the visual design of the marketplace experience for buyers and sellers, create compelling marketing assets, and help build a world‑class design team.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end visual design of the buyer and seller marketplace experiences.
• Create static and video sales/marketing materials that reach hundreds of thousands of users.
• Collaborate closely with marketing and engineering to ship high‑fidelity designs.
• Engage with customers, use data and research, and iterate continuously to improve user experiences.
• Help recruit, mentor, and scale the design team as the company grows.

Required profile

• A creative designer comfortable in a fast‑moving, high‑performance startup environment.
• Deep expertise in UX, with strong understanding of user flows, interaction design, and usability.
• Sharp eye for visual design and meticulous attention to detail.
• Willingness and ability to work on‑site in New York City.
