Freight Forwarding & Logistics Officer

About the role

Merge X is seeking a Freight Forwarding & Logistics Officer to join its Abu Dhabi team. The successful candidate will coordinate all freight forwarding activities, ensuring that materials and equipment are shipped efficiently, compliantly and on schedule for the company’s industrial projects across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange and monitor shipments of goods, equipment and materials, selecting appropriate carriers and transport modes.
• Prepare, review and validate all export and shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and customs paperwork.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, customers and internal departments to track shipments, resolve issues and provide status updates.
• Optimize transport routes and schedules to achieve cost‑effective delivery while meeting project timelines.
• Ensure compliance with regional and international shipping regulations, Incoterms and company policies.
• Maintain accurate logistics records, shipment logs and cost reports.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for freight and logistics processes.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain or freight operations, preferably within industrial or engineering environments.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
