Full‑Time Accounting Faculty – Fall Semester

About the role

The College of Business Administration at the American University in the Emirates seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor to teach Accounting courses during the Fall Semester 2025‑2026. The position involves delivering high‑quality instruction in English and supporting student development through advising and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 12 credit hours per semester across specializations such as Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, and Auditing.
• Develop, update, and review curricula to align with AACSB standards.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and maintain academic records.
• Participate in departmental committees, accreditation activities, and community service initiatives.
• Maintain an active research agenda, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and seek collaborative projects.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Accounting or Finance from a U.S. accredited university or an institution recognized by an American accreditation body.
• Equivalency certification from the UAE Ministry of Education (WES or similar) if the degree is not from the United States.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching or relevant professional experience at an internationally accredited university.
• At least three Scopus‑indexed or five peer‑reviewed journal articles published within the last five years.

Required skills

• Curriculum development and academic program review.
• Proficiency in integrating web‑based and digital technologies into classroom instruction.
• Strong English communication skills; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
