Functional Consultant – Regulatory Reporting Automation

About the role

A leading UAE bank is embarking on a major transformation to fully automate its regulatory reporting landscape. The Functional Consultant will translate regulatory requirements into bank‑specific business logic, drive functional design, and ensure a smooth migration from manual to automated reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the functional bridge between Regulatory Finance, Operations, and IT delivery squads.
• Document detailed business interpretations and data transformation logic for all in‑scope regulatory reports.
• Lead functional solutioning workshops, finalize specifications, and obtain sign‑off on UAT, including parallel‑run validation.
• Define tolerance thresholds, adjustment/override processes, and author the Operational Runbook for Reg Ops.
• Support operationalisation, training, and transition of Reg Ops to a review‑and‑oversight model.

Required profile

• 8–10 years as a Functional Consultant in banking, with 5–6 years in regulatory reporting automation.
• Proven delivery for CBUAE or other major jurisdictions (KSA, Egypt, India, Singapore).
• Strong knowledge of CBUAE SupTech/BRF guidelines or willingness to ramp up quickly.
• Solid understanding of banking products, core banking data, and finance GL structures.

Required skills

• SQL proficiency for independent functional data validation.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting platforms such as Wolters Kluwer OneSumX, Adenza/AxiomSL, Moody's, Oracle OFSAA.
