General Manager - Waste Management/Recycling Solutions

About the role

The General Manager will lead the environmental services and recycling business, shaping strategy and driving growth across local and regional markets. This high‑impact position holds full responsibility for commercial performance, operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and P&L management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s growth strategy in the local market.
• Drive revenue, profitability, market‑share expansion and new business development.
• Oversee end‑to‑end operations, ensuring efficiency, service quality, scalability and continuous improvement.
• Maintain strong relationships with government bodies, regulators, strategic customers and key stakeholders.
• Assume full P&L ownership, including budgeting, forecasting, financial performance and cost optimisation.
• Champion ESG, sustainability, HSE and circular‑economy initiatives across the organisation.
• Build and develop high‑performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, safety and innovation.

Required profile

• 10‑15+ years of experience in environmental services, waste management, recycling or closely related sectors.
• Proven success in senior leadership roles with commercial and operational accountability.
• Strong track record of managing P&L performance and delivering sustainable business growth.
• Demonstrated capability in stakeholder management, government engagement and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent strategic planning, business development and leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline; MBA is an advantage.
