General Practitioner - Emergency

About the role

The Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Ajman is seeking a motivated General Practitioner specialized in Emergency Medicine to join its busy Emergency Department. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, stabilize and treat patients presenting with emergency conditions.
• Perform emergency procedures within scope of practice and respond to medical crises.
• Order, interpret and act on laboratory and imaging investigations.
• Collaborate with consultants, specialists, nursing and allied health staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Identify patients requiring admission, referral or transfer and facilitate appropriate management.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree and completed internship.
• Valid UAE medical license (MOHAP, DHA or DOH) or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum five years of post‑internship experience in an Emergency Department of an acute‑care or tertiary hospital.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; ATLS, PALS or other emergency certifications are advantageous.
• Strong clinical judgment, decision‑making ability and capacity to work under pressure.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
