General Practitioner - Emergency

About the role

Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman is looking for a motivated General Practitioner specialised in Emergency Medicine to join its busy Emergency Department. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, stabilise and treat patients presenting with emergency conditions.
• Perform emergency procedures within scope of practice and respond to critical events.
• Order, interpret and act on laboratory and imaging investigations.
• Collaborate with consultants, specialists, nursing and allied health staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Identify patients for admission, referral or transfer and facilitate appropriate management.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and participate in audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognised university.
• Completed internship and a valid UAE medical licence (MOHAP, DHA or DOH) or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum five years of post‑internship experience in an Emergency Department of an acute‑care or tertiary hospital.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; ATLS, PALS or other emergency‑medicine certifications are advantageous.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) – preferred.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – preferred.
