General Practitioner – Oncology (Dubai)

About the role

We are seeking a General Practitioner with a focus on oncology to deliver high‑quality inpatient and outpatient cancer care in Dubai. Working under the supervision of Consultant and Senior Specialist Medical Oncologists, you will contribute to the comprehensive cancer services of King’s College Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Perform assessment, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up of oncology patients within granted clinical privileges.
• Conduct daily ward rounds, review patient progress and coordinate management plans with supervising consultants.
• Recognise and initiate management of oncology‑related emergencies, escalating to senior clinicians as required.
• Monitor patients receiving systemic anti‑cancer therapies, identify complications and coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgery, radiation oncology, haematology, pharmacy, palliative care, radiology and pathology.
• Participate in departmental meetings, MDTs, clinical audits, morbidity‑mortality reviews and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate computer‑based patient records, ensure data confidentiality and comply with UAE medical licensing requirements.
• Provide cover for colleagues, assist with orientation of junior staff and support the hospital’s financial and resource management when needed.

Required profile

• Valid UAE Medical Health Authority (DHA) licence and MBBS degree; a master’s, postgraduate diploma or related specialty qualification is an advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years post‑qualification experience in medical oncology within an acute hospital setting, managing both inpatient and outpatient oncology patients.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and delivering systemic anti‑cancer therapies under consultant supervision.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to Good Medical Practice standards.
