General Technician (Carpenter)

About the role

Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel is looking for a detail‑oriented Electrical Technician to join its maintenance team. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems throughout the hotel while ensuring compliance with UAE safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and systems according to technical specifications and safety regulations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using multimeters, oscilloscopes and circuit testers.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and optimise performance.
• Analyse circuit diagrams, blueprints and technical documentation to identify issues.
• Repair or replace faulty components, wiring and equipment efficiently.
• Conduct electrical testing and inspections to verify functionality and code compliance.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to coordinate schedules and ensure project completion.
• Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Stay up‑to‑date with UAE electrical codes, industry standards and best practices.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of hands‑on experience in electrical maintenance, installation or repair.
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and circuit testers.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits and wiring practices.
• Familiarity with UAE electrical codes and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Competency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in electrical work.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Valid electrical certification or licence (preferred).
