Geology & Exploration Manager

About the role

Stevin Rock is seeking an experienced Geology & Exploration Manager to lead geology, geotechnical, resource estimation and exploration activities for its quarry operations in Ras Al Khaimah.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigations, data analysis and stability assessments.
• Provide expert advice on excavation methods, pit design and slope stability.
• Develop geological and structural models and oversee resource estimation activities.
• Establish geological confidence levels to support production planning and business development.
• Plan and execute exploration programmes to identify and evaluate mineral resources and reserves.
• Manage geological information to ensure safe and efficient use of mineral assets.
• Enforce safe systems of work and lead departmental safety activities.
• Manage and develop the geology and exploration teams and control the departmental budget.
• Coordinate technical studies with government agencies, consultants, suppliers and contractors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline (master’s degree and chartered status advantageous).
• At least 10 years of experience in the mining or quarrying industry.
• Extensive experience in geology, exploration and resource estimation.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, slope stability and excavation practices.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capability.
• Fluency in English and a valid driving licence.

• Proficiency in geological modelling software.
• Proficiency in resource estimation tools.
