Geotechnical Deputy Discipline Manager

About the role

Subsea 7 is seeking a Geotechnical Deputy Discipline Manager to join the Design & Analysis Department of its Global Project Centre. Based in the Dubai office, you will apply geotechnical engineering principles to offshore projects, supporting studies, tenders and live project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the focal point for geotechnical engineering on tenders, FEED studies and projects.
• Deliver technical geotechnical design scopes in line with the Business Management System and industry codes.
• Identify, mitigate and manage technical risk; participate in project reviews.
• Review, validate and sign off technical documentation, ensuring fitness‑for‑purpose, legislative compliance and adherence to budget and schedule.
• Train, mentor and manage a team of engineers, supporting the Discipline Manager with resource planning.
• Design and detail foundations according to API, DNV and ISO standards, including gravity‑based skirted foundations, driven and suction piles.
• Evaluate existing site investigations and specify/supervise additional offshore investigations when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of offshore geotechnical engineering experience.
• Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of foundation design, limit‑state analysis and offshore site investigation practices.
• Familiarity with industry standards (API, DNV, ISO) and Subsea 7’s Business Management System.
