About the role
A prestigious government entity in Abu Dhabi is looking for an experienced GL Accountant to join its finance team. The role involves managing the general ledger, supporting month‑end close, audits, VAT compliance and financial reporting in line with IFRS.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and support month‑end closing activities.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare financial reports and accounting schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Support audit processes, VAT requirements, and financial reporting activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

- Microsoft Excel
- ERP systems
