Global Logistics Manager

About the role
The Global Logistics Manager will lead carrier and vendor relationships, secure competitive contract rates, and ensure logistics plans are executed on‑time and in‑full. Reporting to the Global Logistics Senior Director, this individual contributor role blends commercial negotiation with cross‑functional coordination to leverage the company’s BCO position for cost, service, and reliability advantages.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with ocean carriers, NVOCCs, inland providers, and port/terminal operators across the network.
- Lead annual and ad‑hoc rate negotiations and contract renewals for ocean freight, inland haulage, surcharges, and value‑added services.
- Structure contracts with formula‑based surcharges, clear service commitments, and maintain parallel tender relationships.
- Manage vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs, conducting periodic business reviews.
- Maintain up‑to‑date carrier and vendor contracts, rates, surcharge schedules, and ensure auditability.
- Reconcile invoiced charges with contracted terms and safeguard contract data integrity.
- Partner with Finance on freight budgeting, invoice validation, and cost recovery, and with Trading on Incoterms and contract frameworks.
- Drive end‑to‑end shipment visibility and proactive exception management via control‑tower processes and tracking systems.
- Monitor port and terminal performance, track freight spend, surcharge exposure, and report risks to senior leadership.
- Identify cost‑reduction and efficiency opportunities and support technology initiatives that improve visibility and reporting.
Required profile
- Proven experience in global logistics, carrier negotiations and contract management.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to track freight spend, assess market impacts and report insights.
- Excellent cross‑functional collaboration with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and IT teams.
- Detail‑oriented approach to maintaining contract records and ensuring data integrity.
