GSE Mechanic – Ground Support Equipment Maintenance

About the role

The GSE Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing airport ground support equipment and associated vehicles. Working under the GSE Supervisor, the role ensures that all equipment operates safely and efficiently to support airport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing of light and heavy‑duty ground support equipment and vehicles.
• Diagnose faults, disassemble engines, replace components, and overhaul assemblies as needed.
• Conduct final quality inspections on all major repairs before equipment release.
• Carry out road tests and functional checks after servicing.
• Maintain accurate work logs, material registers, and service schedules.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide on‑site fault diagnosis and repair.
• Coordinate with other mechanics and user departments to ensure timely service.
• Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and personal appearance standards.

Required profile

• Completion of higher secondary education (12th grade) plus at least two years of formal training or apprenticeship in a mechanical trade.
• Minimum four years of experience in GSE or automobile maintenance.
• English language skills; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance of engines, gearboxes, steering and brake systems.
• Diagnostic testing and fault troubleshooting.
• Road testing and equipment operation.
• Use of shop and service manuals.
• Tool kit management and safety compliance.
