Head Accountant

About the role

The Head Accountant will lead the accounting function for a chemical manufacturing client in Jebel Ali, coordinating daily activities with finance, plant, purchase, HR and sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle transaction accounting, cash & bank management, and monthly cash‑flow forecasts.
• Perform supplier and customer reconciliations, distribute statements, and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare month‑end schedules (depreciation, accruals, provisions) and assist the Finance Manager in closing the books.
• Produce management reports including PDC listings, sales analysis, trial‑balance ratio analysis, AP/AR ageing and collection reports.
• Support external auditors, handle payroll through WPS, and file quarterly VAT returns.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial and management accounting, preferably in retail, FMCG or manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; additional qualifications are a plus.
• Strong prioritisation, independent work style and meticulous attention to detail.
