Head Of Aviation Development

About the role

The Head of Aviation Development will lead the commercial strategy to grow aeronautical revenue for Ras Al Khaimah International Airport. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior position focuses on attracting new airlines, opening new routes, and strengthening existing partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and select new route opportunities through data‑driven market analysis.
• Negotiate and secure contractual agreements with airlines and partner airports.
• Develop route profitability models and incentive programmes aligned with industry standards.
• Design and implement a comprehensive route development strategy for Europe, Africa and Asia.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airline executives, route planners, tourism bodies and other stakeholders.
• Represent the airport at aviation exhibitions and events to generate new business leads.
• Collaborate with internal departments (operations, finance, legal) to ensure commercial initiatives are operationally feasible and aligned with the airport’s vision.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aviation business development, route planning or commercial airline negotiations.
• Strong analytical capability to evaluate market data and forecast traffic growth.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills with airlines and airport partners.
• Ability to develop financial models and incentive schemes that drive route profitability.
• Understanding of regulatory and commercial frameworks governing airport‑airline agreements.
