Head of Civil & Structural Discipline

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a senior leader to head the Civil & Structural discipline in Sharjah. The role oversees manpower planning, technical delivery, and quality assurance across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and allocate manpower resources for projects, proposals and discipline activities.
• Identify and manage short‑term and long‑term resource needs, coordinating recruitment with HR/ADMIN.
• Conduct technical interviews for senior positions and ensure efficient utilization of staff.
• Provide technical expertise throughout project execution and proposal engineering phases.
• Set and manage department objectives, KPIs and budget, aligning them with management requirements.
• Review and improve working systems, implementing changes to boost quality and productivity.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focusing on knowledge base, cost, quality and safety for EPC business.
• Oversee internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance with ISO procedures and company standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering Director, other discipline managers and global peers to maintain consistency.
• Guide engineers and designers to deliver quality solutions within schedule and budget constraints.

Required profile

• Direct employee performance evaluations, identify strengths/weaknesses and recommend training.
• Advise HR on salary matters and recommend compensation adjustments.
• Arrange internal audits to monitor quality of discipline documents and deliverables.
• Review and approve man‑hours, cost and BOQ estimates for proposals.
• Facilitate risk, reward and technical integrity studies for civil and structural designs.
