Head of Communications, South Asia

About the role

TikTok is looking for a senior Communications leader to shape and protect its reputation across South Asia. Based in the UAE, you will guide regional narrative, manage high‑stakes crises, and work closely with cross‑functional partners to align local insight with global goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the communications and PR strategy for South Asia, grounded in local market insight.
• Design campaigns and narratives that support business and reputation objectives, with clear metrics.
• Provide senior leaders with market intelligence on media, cultural, and policy landscapes.
• Secure and manage speaking, media, and stakeholder opportunities, preparing spokespeople.
• Maintain an active network of senior journalists, editors, and influencers for proactive storytelling and rapid response.
• Oversee PR and agency partners, ensuring high quality and speed.
• Lead crisis preparedness and response across the region, creating playbooks and escalation protocols.
• Act as the central point of leadership during escalations, offering clear direction and communications counsel.
• Collaborate with Trust & Safety, Legal, Government Relations, Policy, and Product teams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in communications or public relations within complex, high‑stakes environments.
• Deep understanding of South Asian media, policy, and cultural dynamics.
• Strong network of senior media and stakeholder relationships in South Asia.
• Proven track record of leading crisis and issues management across multiple markets.
• Experience building regional crisis communications frameworks, including playbooks and escalation protocols.
• Exceptional writing, messaging, and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
