Head of Elementary (Teaching and Learning) - Immediate Start

About the role

Bloom Education is recruiting a Head of Elementary (Teaching and Learning) for a charter school in Al Ain, with an immediate start. The role supports the Principal and Vice Principal in providing educational leadership and managing the elementary school so that all work aligns with Bloom Education's vision and mission. It covers strategic direction of the school curriculum, assessment and data collation and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development and implementation of teaching and learning strategies and professional development for academic staff
• Help formulate the school's aims and objectives, establish the policies to achieve them, manage staff and resources and monitor progress
• Act as Vice Principal when the Principal is absent
• Provide leadership and management of teaching and learning together with the Principal, Vice Principal and Middle Leadership Team
• Lead the School Development Plan priorities and create costed subject development plans involving all staff
• Develop and implement policies and practices for subjects or areas, and set short-, medium- and long-term plans for resourcing
• Monitor progress against plans and targets, and evaluate the effect on teaching and learning
• Give regular constructive feedback to colleagues and develop whole staff, phase teams and individuals
• Oversee staff meetings, including bringing in outside speakers when needed
• Stay up to date with curriculum developments and share them with staff

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in education / PCGE
• Experience in a middle management position within a primary / elementary setting
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; a current police criminal clearance check or equivalent from the home country or country of residence is required before appointment
